  • Coach Kristin believes in the development of strong bodies and confident minds. As a former Adapted Physical Education teacher, Kristin is attune to the nuances of effective programming for individuals across the spectrum. Recognizing both her potential and that of her students could be more fully achieved in an alternate setting, Kristin conceptualized the idea of Maur Movement. She began the transition from teaching into small business ownership in late 2020, establishing Maur Movement to offer 1:1 personal training to individuals of all ages and abilities, specializing in the neurodiverse. Several of Kristin’s former students are now among her most committed clientele.

Kristin holds a Bachelors Degree in Clinical Exercise Science from Ithaca College and Masters Degree in Education from LeMoyne. She is certified as a Level 1 Autism Fitness professional and as an Autism Exercise Specialist by the Exercise Connection Corporation. Her work with Maur Movement clients is featured in the Speciality Certificate Program offered by the American College of Sports Medicine. You can read more about Coach Kristin’s journey here:

  • Coach Emma transitioned from commercial fitness to join our small but growing team at Maur Movement. She excels in interpersonal connections and exemplifies a natural ability to meet each client exactly where they are. In doing so, Emma represents one of the fundamental  foundations of Maur Movement by “becoming part of a clients world rather than forcing them to be part of ours”.

Emma is a student at Russell Sage College studying psychology with aspirations of pursuing forensics. Her favorite author is Haruki Murakami, her favorite cartoon is Bobs Burgers, and she cannot claim a favorite cat between her tabby Mama and tuxedo Mello.

  • Coach Rebecca joined the Maur Movement team in May 2025. She was jointly interviewed by Coach Kristin and a Maur Movement client, exhibiting her strengths right away. She is a 2019 graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington with a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health and double Minors in Coaching and Physical Fitness. Rebecca is a member of the National Coaches Registry and is involved in youth sports, including Challengers Baseball, in her hometown of Newburgh NY.

Coach Rebecca balances her coaching responsibilities at Maur Movement with her graduate studies in Occupational Therapy at Russell Sage College where she is the chair of the Graduate Honors Program. As part of her coursework, a multi-week volunteer position at Double H Ranch benefited campers with the human connection skills Rebecca aptly shares with the clients of Maur Movement.

  • Coach Gibson is a UAlbany student studying Childhood Education and Special Education. Gibson plans to pursue a career in Special Education after graduation.
